Better Together
His Version..
“We met. We became friends. I fell in love, she did too. We moved in together. We bought a Farm. We got married. We moved. Still very much in love”.
Her Version..
“Well it's not quite as simple as his story, obviously!
We met at a Leadership Meeting for Team Red, White and Blue. Both of us equally passionate about Veterans and making a difference in our communities. Josh served as the Cycling Guru, leading weekly group rides while I served as the Communication Director turned Chapter Captain. During our time with Team Red, White and Blue we worked side-by-side on service projects, Veteran Engagement and Outreach. One of our most memorable projects was a weekend spent at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary where we discovered a shared love for animals. We got a first-hand look at the therapeutic benefits of rescue animals.
Less than two weeks later we took a risk and spent two days on the road together running/cycling ‘Old Glory’ nearly two hundred miles during Old Glory Relay. We know from "his version" that he is a man of many words so I packed a book of questions so we could get to know each other. Let’s just say Josh was very uncomfortable yet he still managed to smile through it all, I suspected then that he was a keeper. That was the trip where our friendship seemed to blossom into a relationship. As the weeks progressed our bond grew stronger. We spent the greater part of 2017 and 2018 traveling the US for races (cycling and running). Josh completed a few century rides (Tahoe and Colorado) and ran the NYC Marathon while I completed the Boston Marathon. We knew during those moments that we really had something; we are each-others cheerleader and we are our biggest fans, just as the dinosaur.
Fast Forward 6 months and we were beginning our search for land. After several disappointments I stumbled across a photo of the Farm, now Our Someday Farms. While we are getting to know the area and the animals, we are excited to see where this next chapter leads".
